Knokke-Heist
If you are looking for a spot for absolute beginners, you will definitely find it in Knokke-Heist. Drive along the coast to the north and choose between two spots: the Casino Break (Albertstrand) or the Surfers Paradise. Both are located close to each other.
Casino Break (Albertstrand): The waves here are often small, around 0.5 meters, ideal for beginner surfers. Located near the beach of Knokke-Heist, this spot is accessible to everyone.
Surfers Paradise: Here the waves are often larger and more consistent, with both right and left breaking waves. This is a busier spot with a stronger current. The name comes from the surf club based here, which provides a real Californian vibe. Address: Zeedijk-Het Zoute, at the height of Appelzakstraat, Knokke-Heist.
Blankenberge
Blankenberge is easily accessible by train, tram, or car and is known for the spot at the pier.
Blankenberge Pier: This spot works well, even if it is flat elsewhere in Belgium. The best surf is found on the right side of the pier, which provides a stable sandbank and wind shelter. Bredene
The beach of Bredene is ideal for absolute beginners.
Bredene Beach: With waves less than 1 meter, this is a good place to start surfing. The Twins Club offers lessons and rentals here. Address: Driftweg 69, Bredene.
Fort Napoleon: This spot works best with a larger swell and offers protection against wind and current. Waves break here both left and right.
Oostende Surf Spot: Located on the west side of the harbour wall, this spot offers consistent beach breaks during all tide stages. In the summer, surfing is only allowed at the surf club Outside. Address: Koningin Astridlaan 9, Oostende.
Mariakerke - Ollie's Point: This spot offers medium-sized waves and is ideal for more experienced surfers. The best surf is here during high tide.

The West Coast
