Every three years in July, Nieuwpoort transforms into a city of giants! For two days, the city is fully dedicated to the Giant Festival, a grand event that takes both young and old into the fascinating world of giant culture.

What can you expect during the Giant Festival in Nieuwpoort?

• Giant Parade: On Sunday, an impressive procession of over 60 giants from Belgium, the Netherlands, and France will march through the streets of Nieuwpoort. The absolute highlight is the appearance of Jan Turpijn, the largest carried giant in Europe.
• Giant Games and Entertainment: All around the city, you'll find fun activities, such as the Giant Street with traditional folk and party games, and the Giant Beach Games for the active ones.
• Giant Bar: Enjoy the atmosphere and sample local specialties at the cozy Giant Bar, where the atmosphere is always top-notch!
• Giant Fireworks: The perfect conclusion to the festival weekend is a spectacular fireworks display that lights up the sky above Nieuwpoort.

• Jan Turpijn – The Giant of Giants: This mastodon, with its 10.4-meter length and 750 kg, is the largest carried giant in Europe. It is carried by 24 bearers and is an honorary citizen of Nieuwpoort!
